The time is now in Canada's largest city. There is quite a buzz around the 14-6-1 first place Toronto Maple Leafs. The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded Right Winger Ares Nyke and upcoming 1St Round Pick and the following 2nd Round pick for Elite center Nail Bobrov of Detroit along with the Redwings 4th Round pick in y2. With this move the Maple Leafs have added a potent 1-2 Punch of Pavel Kozlovsky and Nail Bobrov who may just be the leagues finest on paper. When cameras caught up with Maple Leaf General Manager Daniel Mitsios he had the following to say "We're sad to see Nyke go. He was a big part of this team and he will be missed but when you consider yourself a contender and you have a chance to add a Nail Bobrov you do it." Bobrov and Kozlovsky are no strangers to each other, the two know each other quite well from there days playing in the Russian KHL before signing in Onice and coming to North America.
"He's a great player, and I look forward to playing with him" Kozlovsky said this morning when hearing of the news that Bobrov had just been added to the Maple Leafs Roster.
"I'm excited to be a Maple Leaf, and think I can help this team be where they want to be come playoff time." Bobrov said about the deal.
As the Rangers and Maple Leafs look to have ante up, only time will tell if these trades were just 2 of many dominoes to fall before deadline.
For TSN I'm Dick McButts, Toronto
